Mr. Itumbi has made the revelation after on Thursday, July 4, at Milimani court shortly before a ruling is made on the DCI`s petition to detain him for 14 more days.

The DCI claimed that Dennis Itumbi had declined to record a statement and being uncooperative after he was arrested and linked to a letter that allegedly plotted the assassination of the DP Ruto.

According to the State House employee, he has a video of a meeting that was at Hotel La Mada at the basement with top government officials plotting to assassinate the DP William Ruto.

Itumbi informed Magistrate Zainab Abdul that the detectives carrying out the investigation of the persons behind the letter had falsely accused him of being uncooperative after he declines to admit that he was the author of the letter allegedly plotting the killing of the DP.

The letter is asserted to have been addressed to President Uhuru Kenyatta by a cabinet secretary unhappy with Interior PS Karanja Kibicho`s sentiments during the alleged meeting.

“The DCI is not interested in the truth. They want me to admit I wrote the letter. I can play the video in the presence of the court to prove the meeting but they are not interested in the truth,” Itumbi said.

Itumbi also complained that it is the police intention to punish him by locking him up at the Kamkunji police station “where hardcore criminals including murder and terror suspects are held.”

Itumbi thus begged the court to detain him at Muthaiga or Kileleshwa police station should the magistrate find a reason to lock him further.

On her side, Magistrate Abdul detained Itumbi at Muthaiga police station for five days quoting that the 14 days sought by the DCI is too long since the letter emerged on June 20, 2019.
